Since 1991, the Environmental Media Awards (EMA) Awards has been the only program solely devoted to celebrating the entertainment industry’s environmental efforts. A pioneer in linking the power of celebrity to environmental awareness, it was EMA who invented the ‘green carpet,’ launching the concept of taking a hybrid or alternative fuel vehicle – not a limo – to theannual Awards show.

President Obama is scheduled to meet Monday with Davis Guggenheim, the director of the new documentary "Waiting for Superman," and the five students featured in the film.

The president called the film "heartbreaking" for its portrayal of real-life students whose best chances for a good education are charter school lotteries.  The film is quite controversial among progressives and labor unions,

Former vice president Al_Gore shares his concerns on the pressing issue of global warming in this documentary. A long-time environmental activist, Gore first became aware of evidence on global warming in the 1970s, and since leaving public office he has become a passionate advocate for large- and small-scale changes in our laws and lifestyles that could help alleviate this crisis. An Inconvenient Truth records a multi-media presentation hosted by Gore in which he discusses the scientific facts behind global warming, explains how it has already begun to affect our environment, talks about the disastrous consequences if the world's governments and citizens do not act, and shares what each individual can do to help protect the Earth for this and future generations.

"Project Runway" star Tim Gunn is the latest prominent celebrity to speak out in support of behalf of gay young teens following multiple suicides in the last week. In the video Gunn heart-fully describes how he tried to kill himself as a teenager after being bullied because he was gay.

In 1971, Daniel Ellsberg, a leading Vietnam War strategist, concludes that America’s role in the war is based on decades of lies. He leaks 7,000 pages of top-secret documents to The New York Times, a daring act of conscience that leads directly to Watergate, President Nixon’s resignation and the end of the Vietnam War.

In recent years, non-fiction films have not only climbed the box office charts but also influenced public discourse. Entertainment Weekly takes a look at some movies that made an impact.

President Bill Clinton is experimenting with a low-cholesterol, vegetarian diet to keep off the weight he lost this summer for daughter Chelsea's wedding, as well as maintaining his health.

"I'm trying to be one of those experimenters," said Clinton. "Since 1986, several hundred people who have tried essentially a plant-based diet, not ingesting any cholesterol from any source, has seen their bodies start to heal themselves -- break up the arterial blockage, break up the calcium deposits around the heart. 82 percent of the people who have done this have had this result, so I want to see if I can be one of them."

President Clinton explains the way potential grandchildren motivate him to stick to the diet,
